Returns – Undeliverable or Refused Parcels
Parcels that cannot be delivered, are refused by the recipient, or are not collected within the holding period of the Pickup parcel shop (7 days) will be returned to the sender. Parcels refused by the recipient are returned immediately. A surcharge applies for returning these parcels.

Unsuccessful Collection Requests
If a collection request cannot be carried out by the carrier due to a cause outside the responsibility of DPD and the carrier, a surcharge will be applied.

NSP (Non-Standard Parcel)
A parcel is considered a Non-Standard Parcel if:

• The parcel has a length or a diagonal length exceeding 130 cm;

• The parcel weighs more than 20 kilograms;

• The parcel has an unstable or irregular shape (bulging, cylindrical, roll-shaped);

• The parcel is not packaged, or not properly packaged, in accordance with the packaging guidelines (see dpd.com/nl/nl/support/inpakken/);

• The parcel requires additional manual handling or sorting for any reason.

If the parcel exceeds 175 cm in size, weighs more than 31.5 kg, or has a girth exceeding 300 cm, only the surcharge for oversized and overweight parcels applies.

DPD applies four categories. Classification per category depends on the percentage of NSP parcels relative to the total number of parcels.
This surcharge applies to all NSP parcels shipped with DPD.

Category A: the percentage of NSP parcels is less than 10% of the total.

Category B: the percentage of NSP parcels is between 10% and 15% of the total.

Category C: the percentage of NSP parcels is 15% or more of the total.

Category D: the percentage of NSP parcels is 50% or more of the total.

Tire Surcharge
Tires shipped to Finland, Norway, and Denmark that are not delivered in cardboard packaging will be repackaged by DPD with the appropriate packaging. As a result, a surcharge will be applied. In addition, a peak surcharge of €1.70 applies during the periods from March to May and from 24 September to 24 December.

Exceeding Dimensions and Weight – NP Parcel
DPD applies maximum dimensions and weights for parcels. If the dimensions of standard parcels are exceeded, a surcharge will be applied. This surcharge applies if a parcel exceeds one or more of the following dimensions and/or weights:

• The parcel has a length or diagonal length exceeding 175 cm;

• The parcel weighs more than 31.5 kilograms;

• The parcel has a girth exceeding 300 cm.

If this surcharge applies, the NSP surcharge will no longer apply.

Exceeding Dimensions and Weight – KP Parcel
DPD applies maximum dimensions and weights for parcels. If the dimensions of small parcels are exceeded, a surcharge will be applied. This surcharge applies if a parcel exceeds one or more of the following dimensions and/or weights:

• The parcel has a length or diagonal length exceeding 50 cm;

• The parcel weighs more than 3 kilograms;

• The parcel has a girth exceeding 111 cm.

If this surcharge applies, the NSP surcharge will no longer apply.

Age Check
Surcharge for verifying whether the recipient of the parcel is 18 years of age or older. Mandatory for the delivery of alcohol and tobacco in the Netherlands.

Interventions Not Performed via Software
A surcharge is applied for adjustments that cannot be carried out using the provided DPD software and therefore must be processed manually by a DPD employee.

Confirmation of Delivery > 12 Months
A Proof of Delivery (POD) can be requested from Customer Service up to a maximum of 12 months from the date on which the parcel was, or should have been, delivered. If a POD request is submitted after 12 months, a surcharge will be applied. Requests submitted after 24 months will not be processed.

Relabeling
DPD may apply a surcharge for (re)applying parcel labels.

If an export shipment has an invoice value of more than €1,000.00, a customs declaration must be prepared. If this declaration is not included with your shipment, DPD can arrange this on your behalf. A surcharge will be applied for this service. DPD International Express is excluded from this surcharge.

Exceeding Dimensions or Weight
DPD applies a surcharge when the maximum weight of 31.5 kg per parcel or 70 kg per shipment is exceeded. A surcharge also applies to parcels with a length greater than 1.50 m. If a parcel exceeds both the weight and the dimensions, the surcharge will only be charged once.

Return
If we are unable to deliver a parcel, we will return it upon request. In addition to the transport costs, a surcharge will be applied for this service.
